Your tasks:

Within the Arkopy project, funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg, we are researching, together with partners from industry and orthopedic technology, an active knee exoskeleton to support patients. We are researching novel innovative actuators for a lightweight, safe and efficient exoskeleton. An anatomical leg simulator will be developed to verify technical parameters and demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness.

Your profile:

We are looking for dedicated graduates and students from the fields of mechatronics, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering who would like to research and work independently in a team. We offer a unique topic in which aspects of biomechanics, medical technology, design, control engineering and power electronics are intertwined! In addition, we support particularly committed students with the intention to pursue a doctorate, whether through the proven research master's program (Advanced Systems Design), or with a master's degree already completed.

Possible PhD topics:

  • Development of an anatomical leg simulator for verification of an active exoskeleton.
  • Design and integration of an electromechanical actuator for active exoskeletons.

The position is temporary until 14.08.2024 with an option to extend and the full-time position is generally divisible.
